Description: The USSS Electronic Crimes Task Force (ECTF) continues to take a leading role in combating computer-based threats and stemming the efforts of domestic and foreign cyber criminals.

In a true collaboration of public law enforcement and private industry the USSS continues to utilize a nationwide network of ECTF to prevent, detect, and investigate various forms of electronic crimes, including potential terrorist attacks against critical infrastructures and financial payment systems. Learn the latest techniques and gain insight to related cases from the USSS.

Additionally, hear from a major financial institution security manager on programs in place and the team that has made it increasingly difficult for terrorist groups to acquire illicit funds.

Leland is the Vice President of Global Corporate Security for BNY Mellon (Bank of New York Mellon). He has over 25 years of experience and is responsible for physical protection and investigations in the Southwest United States, Mexico, Argentina, Chile, and Brazil. His office is in Houston, Texas.

Leland graduated with a Bachelor’s of Science degree from Sam Houston State University in Criminal Justice and Law Enforcement/Police Science. He received his Master’s Degree in Security Management from the University of Houston-Downtown. Leland’s certifications include the Certified Protection Professional (CPP) from ASIS International; the Certified Financial Security Services Professional (CFSSP) from the Institute of Certified Bankers; and the Certified Fraud Specialist (CFS) from the Association of Certified Fraud Specialists.

He commits his time to numerous other organizations. He has been a guest speaker for several recent seminars discussing various security related topics including Secureworld, and has been a member of ASIS-Houston Chapter since 1987
